Lake Fork Fishing Report - 02/17/2024

Spring is nearly here and a few males are beginning to move shallow as the spawn is about to begin. The water temperature in the back of the coves has been in the high 50’s to low 60’s and the water is much more clear than expected after heavy rains this past week. All the fish we caught were around Buck brush or clumps of hay grass in less than 3 feet of water. Once again, all the fish were smaller males under 16” but the big females should be coming soon. Our best techniques were throwing Senkos with a very slow presentation. We are not having much luck throwing moving baits but I expect the chatter baits and spinner baits to be a major player in the next week. Again, all our fishing is being done in 5 feet of water or less.
